This guy greeted us last night in our stateroom after a terrific light and dance show at the Mainstage Theater aboard the ship.  And with 2 pieces of chocolate on Robbi's pillow, looks like things may be getting normal again.  However another rapid COVID test today -- UGH!  That makes 3 in 5 days!!

                                                                                                                                                                   We are on our way to Honolulu so we are at sea for the next 5 days, arriving there on 06 March.  So posts will be limited.  And by the way, we are now 4 hours behind EST time

Robbi had fun this morning learing to make an orchid lei.  Keeping it moist will make sure that it lasts to Honolulu.

Someone has been spreading rumors on board ship about what today is!  Thank y'all for the thoughts and birthday wishes!

We had a fun day shopping in the town of Uturoa.  Robbi met a craft lady, Celina, and together they crafted a pendant from five pearls and silver wire. The results pleased both of them! John found a T-shirt that he was looking for and had fun browsing the local market of fruits and vegetables. At the  sail-away party we were treated to some beautiful vistas of the town and the reef that surrounds Raiatea.  They are actually camping on that sand bar on this part of the atoll!! 19 March -- Vaitape, Bora Bora, French Polynesia

We entered the only gap in the atoll that surrounds the island of Bora Bora this morning at 6:00am.  This is the reason that the U.S. Army established a strategic supply base here in WWII.   Sunrise entering the Gap of Bora Bora We started the morning with a short walk around Vaitape before we met our tour.  An interesting fact is that there are 2 of every kind of shop with a 6 block stretch of Vaitape.  And again, a majority of the businesses are owned by Chinese. However, the influx of the Chinese was created because of the Opium War. The coral reef atoll isolates the Pacific Ocean from the intercoastal deep water channel that circulates around the island.  This creates the variety of colors in the waters that is absolutely amazing!  The white line you see in the picture are the waves of the Pacific Ocean hitting the coral reef and filling the lagoon Mt. We just received our COVID test results and we are NEGATIVE !!   Yay!!  Whoopee!! And yes, I'm smiling!!  We are at the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Hotel, right at the end of the runway (that's a DELTA jet in the background!)   Our room is ready so we'll close for today.  We fly out early tomorrow for San Diego and  we are finally going to do this after being canceled since the COVID onset.  Our itinerary is below.  We'll keep y'all posted as we complete this final leg of the South Pacific islands that we started out of Brisbane, Australia in December, 2012!!
