Coming into Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii

 ALOHA!  Land at last.  Sunrise coming into the Hawaiian Islands!

We are now docked and cleared for disembarkation.  YAY!!

We took a tour of the main parts of Honolulu and saw a lot of historical sights as well has the history of Oahu.  The Queen's palace, Iolani Palace was used as the the state capitol for 10 years after Hawaii gained statehood.  King Kamehameha was the last king and liberated the islands way back when.

Next we went to Pearl Harbor and teh most sobering and somber part of the afternoon.  It is really a highlight of teh cruise thus far.  we'll let the photos below speak for themselves.

The whole Pacific Fleet National Park is filled with memoribilia, plaques and historical makers to tell the stories.  One of the interesting was the USS Bowfin Sub and submarine memorial to lost subs in WWII pictured below.

What an afternoon!!!!

And a fitting close to our first day in Hawaii!!  ALOHA!
