Hawaii, French Polynesia, Tahiti, the Marquesas -- 35-Day Cruise -- 27 February thru 04 April 2022

 We arrived at our first port of call -- Avalon, Catalina Island.  The scenery is so-o-o-o picturesque!  We took the tender in after some exercise and a light breakfast and walked around the quaint shops.  This is how the RICH live!! The Casino The port of Avalon and hillside haciendas We came back to the ship -- John to the pool and Robbi to her Mahjongg game.  Yes, she found 7 other women who wanted to play!  No Surpise, as she has always found women on all our cruises who will play the game😂😂 We were treated to a pleasant surprise in our stateroom, as well.  We're sure our devious and wonderful cruise consultant had something to do with it!!!   50th Anniversary card and cupcake from the ship's Captain

We are finally underway -- left the Port of San Diego at exactly 6:00pm PST and are now officially CRUISING!!!  YAY!!!  At the Sailaway Party Sunset -- Port of San Diego San Diego Skyline

 We are on board the Zuiderdam!!  YAY!!    Internet is working!  And we are looking forward to a fun-filled voyage.  OH, and most important thing, the LIDO buffett is open and the food looks fantastic!!  We heard from passengers leaving the ship this morning that the food was GREAT!! So we'll keep you posted!   

  We're on board and heading to San Diego, flying First Class for a change and treating Robbi.  We landed early and are now at the hotel and will be heading to Old Town shortly for sightseeing and reminiscing about our short time in San Diego in 1987, while living in Rancho Penisquitos and working in Ranco Bernardo for a year. Looking forward to tomorrow!!

Sitting in the Delta Sky Lounge enjoying the calm and a nice breakfast, after going through check-in and TSA security.  Things have changed so-o-o-o much since we last flew, pre-COVID!  Check-in is all electronic including baggage tags.  Still have Sky Priority for shorter security lines. 😄😄 We'll be boarding at 7:40am, so more when we land in SAN

We just received our COVID test results and we are NEGATIVE !!   Yay!!  Whoopee!! And yes, I'm smiling!!  We are at the Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Hotel, right at the end of the runway (that's a DELTA jet in the background!)   Our room is ready so we'll close for today.  We fly out early tomorrow for San Diego and  we are finally going to do this after being canceled since the COVID onset.  Our itinerary is below.  We'll keep y'all posted as we complete this final leg of the South Pacific islands that we started out of Brisbane, Australia in December, 2012!!
